Painting 67 - Women Be Wise - SOLD

When I paint I need to have the music playing. I read somewhere that music forces your brain out of the left side and into the right side where art is created. I don’t know if it’s true, but the last few minutes of this picture I was listening to Bonnie Raitt’s “Women Be Wise” - I was having dinner with my family several years ago at Royal Thai in Laguna Beach and Bonnie Raitt sat with her parents at the next table over from us. She is awesome. I used myself as the model again today. Who else is ever here? The mouth is a little off, but I wanted to leave it that way. Maybe that adds to the “wiseness”. I noticed today that my daily painting habit is firmly entrenched. So much so that I start to resent anyone or anything that gets in the way of my painting. This is a 5” x 7” oil.
