A Horse of a Different Color

See! Maybe that collaging/mixed media stuff is helping my painting. I'm pleased with this one today. It's a large piece 36" x 12" with gallery wrapped canvas 2" deep. The model for this one is my black colt Fierte. He's a 4 year old and we are currently both learning dressage from Jo Moran. Monday is going to be his first trailer ride over to my trainer's ranch.

I really like the atmosphere in this painting and the composition, excellent.

I'm sucking on the painting a day challenge. I chose to paint an Islamic dome, very symmetrical, very detailed, for my second painting, what the heck was I thinking?

Heh, oh well, I'm liking the results of the piece so far, just a little different from what I normally paint, so it's taking me much longer to complete. I'm trying not to get totally caught up in the details, yeah right, heh.

I love these paintings of yours!
